Webb reunites with Yeovil Town in FA Cup First Round (potentially)

Yeovil Town will travel to Chesterfield if they beat Leatherhead on Tuesday night in the FA Cup First Round, with former Yeovil Town manager Danny Webb in the opposition dugout, bringing a tasty storyline into play for the Glovers.

Webb infamously joined the club last season, following the sacking of Mark Cooper, but only managed one game for the Glovers before quitting just 10 days later, citing “personal and family reasons”. His only game in charge was a 1-0 defeat at Tamworth.

Chesterfield currently sit just inside the playoffs in League Two, albeit in indifferent form, having won just two of their last five games. The Spireites are no strangers to Yeovil, as the two teams faced off multiple times during their time together in the National League, and in the Football League in years past.

The last time the two sides met was in March 2023, the points were shared in a 1-1 draw; Paul McCallum gave the Derbyshire side the lead in the first half, before Yeovil equalised through Ryan Law just eight minutes later. The tie will take place on 7th November 2026.
