Yeovil’s return to form continued with a 4-1 thumping of Solihull Moors on Friday night, which you can read more about here; but let’s see how the rest of the league got on over the weekend…
We begin with next weekend’s hosts Kidderminster Harriers, who really didn’t have much for us to mention, playing out a goalless draw away to Woking. In almost the exact opposite fashion, Southend left the north with three points and a healthy goal difference, battering Gateshead. All six of their goals coming before half-time, including a hat-trick for Sam Austin.
League leaders Boreham Wood recorded a copy of Yeovil’s win, albeit finishing the game with a man less, putting playoff hunters Harrogate away with ease – former Glover Ben Whitfield was among the goalscorers. Worthing and Boston both recorded impressive away wins to Hartlepool and Forest Green respectively, with the defeat for the Stags spelling the end of Lee Clark’s time in Durham.
Tamworth came from a goal behind to register a dramatic win over 10-man Wealdstone, as Jake Hutchinson bagged in the 97th minute for the Lambs. In slightly less dramatic circumstances, Altrincham beat Fylde away from home, with all goals coming in the first 20 minutes.
Halifax and Sutton played out the most entertaining end to a 1-1 draw you could ask for, with Max Bardell seemingly winning it for the Shay in the 94th minute, before Jermaine Francis equalised a minute later to salvage a point in Yorkshire. Barrow secured a narrow win over Aldershot, while Eastleigh registered an impressive win over slow-starting Carlisle. Finally, Hornchurch sent Scunthorpe home empty handed in the evening kickoff, as ex-Yeovil man Ryan Inniss scored the only goal of the game.
